Executive session minutes were released today by the Amherst-Pelham Regional School Committee, from meetings prior to last month’s $309,000 settlement with former Superindent Maria Geryk.
These records do not refer directly to the elementary schools consolidation plan launched by Geryk’s administration. Instead, they generally focus on Geryk’s claims, including that she was defamed by members of school committee. The committee was split about whether to challenge Geryk – as a public official subject to performance-related criticism – or to settle with her in an attempt to avoid lengthy litigation. The latter group prevailed.
The PDF is 35 pages long, covering a series of meetings from July and August.
