LWV School Consolidation Forum

School Vote Information Forum in September

The school project will require a Proposition 2 1/2 debt exclusion question on the November 8, 2016 State Election ballot for Amherst Voters. The forum, scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, 7-9 p.m. in the Amherst Regional Middle School Auditorium, will give the community an opportunity to hear different views. Representatives from The Save Amherst Small Schools, the Bold Amherst Schools, the Building Committee from ARPS and the Amherst Finance Committee will speak. The Amherst League of Women Voters is organizing this event.

LWVA Moderator – Nancy Eddy

1) Building Committee from ARPS – Mike Morris (chair) and Ludmilla Pavlova-Gillham (committee member)

2) Amherst Finance Committee – Marylou Theilman (chair), Steve Braun (Vice Chair FC)

3) BOLD – Liz Larson, Susan Bellak

4) SASS – Maria Kopicki and Laura Quilter

Each group will be allowed two representatives and will be given 10 minutes to present. Powerpoint is allowed, but if you wante the slides incorporated into the taped broadcast you must send them to Jody Jenkins – jody@amherstmedia.org. You must also bring your slides on a memory stick to the event to be plugged into a laptop.

Following the presentations, each group will then be given 5 minutes to respond to the other groups’ presentations.

The LWVA will pass out note cards for the audience to write down questions and at the end of the hour, the questions will be collected. Two people from the league will be organizing the questions which the moderator will then ask of the forum participants. We will allow 40 minutes for questions.

If you have questions, please email Rebecca Fricke – rebfricke@gmail.com. The LWVA has sent out information about this event, but we encourage you to advertise to your listserves.
